Default Double cardan ball replacement?

When I went to leave work today I had a loud knocking sound coming from under my jeep. I thought it was a front axle u-joint so I replaced that. It was completely blown. Took her for a spin and still had the sound. I crawled under and felt the double cardan to see if there was any play. After pulling the floppy shaft I found the center ball part was shot. OReilly's Auto parts has the ball for $45 or so but I'm not sure how had this is to change being I've never done it. Is this a job to do at home and any tips?

I'm going to pull-a-part this weekend. Tried to get the parts to fix it but found out it has other issues. Figure I might as well get two while I'm there just incase I break another one.
