i just replaced my oem balancer with a doorman balancer from advance auto. ever since i did that my belt is walking off my lower crank pulley and its slicing the belt. i used a puller/installer and seated it correctly. anyone else have problems with these balancers??

 

is it rideing back off towards the timing cover?

 

yes, everything looks straight. i seated it with the poper install tool.

 

theres another member having the same issue can you move it back and forth on the crank?

my balancer does not have the play his does. I can assure you my problem is balancer related as i only replaced my oem one bc i saw the rubber starting to seperate.

Ever since then,been about a week and a half it has ate two dayco belts. I wish i didnt throw my Oem balancer out!

I called dorman, they said the only problems they ever had was 2 years ago they bored the hubs the wrong size and people couldnt get the balancers on.

 

are all they pullys lined up when looking down the front of the motor?

 

They are pretty spot on. You can fit maybe two sticks of gum diameter between the HB and timing cover. I just went out there and tried pressing the balancer on more but its bottomed out. Im just getting an OEM jeep one im done with this chinese crap.

 

when mine went thars the only place that had one it was lees than 75 bucks if i remember rite...
