Damn how many places are you going to ask the same springs/shock questions? If you would listen the Bilstien 5100 are the ones you NEED it isn't an off road shock only. That spring is a stock spring go to Rustys Off Road and check out his springs they are American made and ride very well on and off road.

Fred,
With all due respect, I'm going to try and be real nice with this response. I joined this site to learn as much as I can from ALL the members and contributors who have done what I am considering doing, ... or currently are running what I'm curious about. Now I believe it is my RIGHT to ask as many questions as I please about jeeps, and I didn't read anywhere that it is YOU that is required to answer all and any of my concerns!?!?!? Right?
So I'm gonna respectfully ask that you allow other knowledgable members and guests to participate, and stop trying to force your opinions and equipment choices on me.
Just so you know Fred ... this may be my first XJ, but I've been building 4x4's since 1973..
Leave me be now Fred , or I will get an administrator involved.
Thank you. Respectfully, fast

Question

Did a lot of research on the Dorman part number I listed above, and many of the people who installed these report up to a 2.5" lift above the stock 'new' height , and a smooth ride. So naturally at $83.00 a piece, I am interested in learning what I can from members on here who also might have used these.
Anybody?

Fair enough I'll make a point of never answering anything you post as you do fine on your own.

As i remember correctly, yall didn't want our help since we only want rough riding offroading jeeps so you were gonna ask another forum. So understand we will make comments because we gave you honest answers already and you shot them down.

I am just lifting the truck 2 - 2.5" and keeping it on the highway.

Thanks.

Back on track here 'Flamers' please ....

Looking for helpful, educated, experienced in the subject matter posted .... courteous feedback please.

Be nice ... D.B.A.D.

I installed a set two months ago. At first it looked to be around a 2 inch lift but they settled down after a month (10,000 miles) to match the front height.

Most stock style leaf springs Will do that. You either have to get the HD ones and look at spring rate. If you want slight lift and a decent ride look into Old Man Emu lifts. Lifting a jeep isn't like a one ton pickup. Once you changes the springs and coils, ride quality Will change. There's the most honest, truthful answer you'll get. Not sure what else you're looking for.

I find that threatening and generally being a tool to CF Supporters is the best way to get information from all of the members. Not surprised this thread is all but dead.

Really that's odd. When i was new i respected the knowledge here and was open to criticism. I didn't have to be a tool or anything. People need to learn that stuff typed online isn't generally meant how its read. But then again, too many thin skinned people out there. oh well.

I had OME light duty leafs. Loved them / loved the ride quality. Gave it a nice stance with the ZJ 5.9 Coils up front. It was the perfect combo.

I wish i did OMe back when instead of wasting money on budget lifts. Plus you can add onto aftermarkrt leaf with shackles etc and do SYEs, LCAs,etc

Dormans at 2 years old and 45K miles with at least 100 lbs of tools and still over 1 extra inch of lift. I also have Bilstein shocks which are stiffer than cheapos. The Grand V8 springs from MOOG only netted about a 1/2 inch rise on my 98. I never got the 1 inch others say they get.
