my two front doors shake and rattle when i hit bumps. they dont seal correctly anymore either. im thinking that the latch is worn out or something. if i replaced the doors with some off of a 96 or newer like i was planning on doing anyways, would that fix this problem?

I'm not sure if the hinges are the same. I know its do-able I've seen some pics but most likely you just need new hinge pins. Napa has them and they are cheap.

I have the same problem on my '92. Its like the hinge is coming apart from the body. It looks like the hinge is just glued on(?!?) and the glue is pulling away. I'm guessing the fix for it is to drill and bolt the hinge up tight. Anyone done this??

Sweet! I honestly didn't even think about doing that. I'll be doing it tomorrow! (I know WTF with the glue?!?)

If anyone really feels ambitious, you could do something like this...

Me... i'm just waiting from my doors to completely fall-off!

I was looking at it yesterday and wasn't sure where to adjust it. Are you talking about the part on the body?

yeah. the bolt that the door latches closed to. you can loosen it with a wrench and just move it in a little bit at a time, then get inside and close the door. if it seals good and tight then you are good. if not move it a little more.

haha me too on my 96.. my lower hinge pin was broke though... and yes the door hinge on the body side is a very common thing for them to "seperate" from the body itself.... i have to reweld both upper hinge's on my front and replace the hinge pins with steel rod
also made my doors removable in the process

Did it yesterday. Helped a lot, but still not fully sealed. I think I'm gonna have to eventually take a BFH to the hinge and reweld it.

yea. mine doesnt completely seal either. just closes tighter and the doors dont shake. air and water still comes in, so a bfh is starting to sound pretty nice.
