That looks like fun. Might be the next thing I do when I get done with the backbone and winch. As well as the bastard lift. Not enough days in the week! haha Does anyone know if your doors sag after doing this? It is still my DD for now. I am wanting to do the blazer spare tire carrier tube door conversion. Anyone cut the hinges like this and done the tube door?

I took the doors off my 92 XJ and while it is not my dd i was a little concerned about re fit as well. I have only had the doors off while driving on the street so no suspention/unibody flex to mess with anything but everytime I have taken them off and put them back on they go on just as easy and look the same. Sometimes it takes a little work to get the hinges back in( i suggest using WD40 or PB blaster) helps the hinges back into place since it is a tight fit. I have only done it to the front doors but plan on doing the rears soon.
I would do a tube door if I could find one that also had a canvas cover to keep rain out

If you remove the crush sleeves they will sag slightly when you open them. however as long as you don't remove the hinges when you do the modification you'll be fine. I've had mine off/on for several months now w/ the sleeves removed and they still work just fine and line up like they did from the factory when you close the doors. And do you have a link to this blazer tire carrier tube door?

Here is a link to the tube door using a blazer tire carrier. Pretty damn clever.

i would guess it would be too heavy and break welds on the hinges and maybe bend or break the striker
