1987 XJ two door...
The plastic that surrounds the 'hook' (not sure what its called) that hrabs the door post is tearing and seems to be holding up the doors ability to close. Or, better put, seemed to be til I just ripped the plastic out with some pliers.
I got a pic of the passenger side, and a pic of whats left of the plastic on the driver's side.
I doubt the plastic does much, and now the door seems to be working fine.
Any advise or thoughts on this trouble?

I had the same problem with mine, but that stupid plastic piece was shoved all the way behind the hook in the mechanism, so I just picked up a good one at the junkyard for about 5 bucks. And she closes well now.
