I'm preparing to pull my door panels again to put in new speakers. When I pulled them previously to install a window and regulator I found that the black rubberized plastic shield was gone or fell apart while removing it. Is there a supplier for these things, or a suitable substitute I can purchase at a national chain store? I'm not sure regular plastic sheeting will hold up. Have you replaced yours, and what did you use?
I just realized I posted this in the XJ forum instead of the WJ forum, but since the XJ's probably use the same shields behind their door panels, I guess it's ok. Just in case anyone's looking for a replacement I found it at Lowes in the plumbing department. It's a 5' x 6' piece of shower pan matting. It's gray instead of black but who's going to see it. It's thin and rubberized and is obviously made to withstand water.
That's a good question ..IDK where a guy could get them. You might call Quadratec or Comancheclub.com.
If you can't find any, get some heavy mil sheet and cut that. You could adhere it with some non-hardening 'bedding compound' like below, which I'm pretty sure is what they used from the factory (the black gooey stuff that doesn't harden). Or use some good painters tape around the perimeter, like Frog tape which can be removed a couple years later, in case you need to get in and make repairs...

You should post a link when you figure stuff out.
Then post again after you use it to let us know it worked as you wanted.
