Hey all!

Having a problem with the automatic locks.. the passenger rear door will not auto lock. I used a volt meter and it is receiving the neg and pos signals to lock unlock, but just not doing it.

Do I just need the locking mechanism, or?... on a 99 cherokee 4.0

I have a 97 which some time in it's life did a lot of time on dusty dirt roads, the lockes need a good clean out, if yours are similar, I find I have to spray them with WD 40 or similar and blow them out with compressed air about once the gunge in there get too sticky for the lock motors to handle, has always got them active again for me, good luck.

Thanks hoggy, do you take the whole thing out or spray it normal? Ive tried just pb blast, but will try some compressed air

 

I just sprayed the hell out of it whilst it was in the door, a power wash may shift more of the gunk but I'd blow it out after and spray it again for lubrication.
