My Jeep had a similar issue. The front map lights wouldn't shut off sometimes after turning them on or after opening the doors while the rear lights would. After just having the bulbs removed for awhile I ended up figuring out which wire's turned the lights on with the doors open and rewired them removing all the circuit board stuff.
