The other day, me and my buddy went to the back of his yard to his dirt bike course and were having some fun. Well i put it in 4 wheel and it would engage but after bouncing around some, it would pop out of 4 wheel and go back to 2 wheel. Why does it do this? Is it the linkage going to the
t-case?

Part time means it is selectable 4wd, full time means its always in 4wd. when it says part time on your dash light, that means it's in 4wd. However, I'm actually having the same problem you are having, so I'm subscribed to the thread, sorry I can't help.

my jeep (ax-15/231) shifts into 4h fine while moving since we have shift on the fly, for 4L it requires me to be stopped or moving a just a snails pace so everything can line up in the tcase.
as long as the clutch is depressed you can shift in whatever you need, you dont have tp be in true neutral
i would look at your tcase shift linkage and adjust it a little. maybe the lever is not fully engaging the case causing it to pop out of gear

yup your linkage is way out of wack then! loosen the linkage, then manually put it into 4 lo by going under the jeep and moving the tcase shifter, then put your lever in 4lo in the jeep, (to where you are about 1/2" from it being all the way back, that way you still have some room to play with the lever) then tighten the bolt on the shift linkage.
bam its now alligned!
