Last night while in a Meijer parking lot, there were some decent ice mounds that I decided could use some driving over, nothing to large, and nothing bigger than I ever tacked in my Rover, well on the last one, my Jeep got stuck, the passenger side tires were up in the air while both drivers side tires were on the ground. Well, I popped it in 4lo and 4hi, in either on of them, the passenger side tires were free spinning, and my drivers side were just sitting there. Do I have a transfer case problem? I do still notice the jumping when turning on pavement in in 4wd however.... oh and, embarrassingly a 2wd S10 came and save me.

 

Nothing wrong with your Jeep, that's just the infuriating reality of open differentials.

 

well it seems to me that you DONT have lockers...just open diffs and those blow.

LSD's also only work if both wheels have traction...If one wheel loses traction (up in the air) it will act like an open diff.

Im curious? Who told you it had lockers?
because Jeeps dont automatically have lockers

 

Ahhh, I did some more reading, I'm not quite sure where I was told these Jeeps have lockers, but I found some more info that says they don't...along with some more knowledge... Ive always had sports cars before, with the exception of my one rover, and that just got thru anything I wanted... so knowing trucks is a bit new
