I had a ticking sound on acceleration. It’s gotten louder. And now I feel like I hear a knock. Oil is good. Added additive for good measure. Added fuel cleaner to gas. The oil additive seemed to help things be a tiny bit quieter. At 60 I’m driving ok with tick. It’s louder getting up to 60. Any ideas what I should look at first? My teen’s car. When I’m parked w engine running, it sounds like noise is center top back towards windshield.
Must be a Grand Cherokee. The XJ Cherokees never had the 4.7 V8.
Hard to tell from the 1s video, but from what I can tell, it's probably rod knock. The 4.7 is known to be a reliably unreliable engine. I replaced one in an 05 ram that came off the shipping truck with a rod knock. Had 3 miles on it.

The 4.7 is also notorious for lifter/rocker problems, having issues with the lash adjusters. You said it sounds louder up top. Get quieter or louder as it warms up? I'd be tempted to pull the valve covers and check the clearance on the push rods and lifters. Does it get louder under load versus just rpm (thinking exhaust leak here).
