Default Does anyone know?

What is the piece called that the locking mechanism latches to on the Fran of the car door. I'm having an issue where mine isn't quite in line with the lock itself and was wondering if it could be lowered?

You might have an issue with the hinge pins. If you lift your door while it's open a bit, is there play? The pin's can be replaced. Mine were actually hollow, 7mm I think. I drilled mine out and put in solid steel pins, no small task!

Is there specific tools you need or do they come out pretty easily? There is a little play but that could just be the door lifting. I replaced the door on it with a 2000 (mine is a 1999) because it was pretty well dented. I noticed that when the door closes to latch the top of the channel that the loop on the door runs through hits and lifts up so I think that is the issue. When i left and push it closes a lot easier.

Does it require any modification or does it pretty regularly go up and down

It moves, but a limited amount. Try it.

Don't let the door bind on it too much, if it does it can eventually crack the jamb where the strike bolt is.
