Only thing that effects comparability is spline count. Your stock DS prob has a 27 or 29 spline count. The 44 is prob different... Maybe not...

The 44 is a 3.56:1 gear ratio vs. The 3.55's that are currently installed

Hey, sorry for delay... Doin this on the iPod so it's wifi dependent... But to answer your question, the gearing on your front axle will have to be replaced with the 3.56 that's in the 44 your installing.

To install the 44 you need:
- a drive shaft with matched spline count to the D-44
- a new 3.56 ring and pinion for the front D-30

Also the 44 has a 31 spline count I think.

IIRC the d44 and c8.25 both have different pinion lengths that the d35, so your current drive shaft won't work.

BTW why are you guys talking about spline count? That has nothing to do with his driveshaft for an axle change...
