Default Do I need this?

I removed my stock front bumper and on the inside of the bumper is a black ball. I think it has something to do with emissions but I'm not sure. Can anyone tell me what it is and if I even need it.

You found the egg. Don't let it get hot or it might hatch.

Do a little searching and you can find instructions to relocate it.

I relocated behind the grille on the radiator support pass side. Used an existing hole in the support & drilled another. Two sheel metal screws & it looks like it belongs there.
