Default Distributor won't rotate

So the background is, that I spun the teeth off of the camshaft sprocket, and have now replaced the whole set. Of course the timing marks were not lined up when I disassembled, since things had spun.
New set installed and marks aligned. Starts right up and idles / drives fine. But seems to have a slight miss. So I went to adjust the timing at the distributor. Loosened lock bolt, but distributor will not turn. I can feel it's loose, but it doesn't turn at all.
So is it because the timing gears are now lined up, relative to the distributor just a little differently from how it was before failure ?

Thanks for insights....

Turning the distributor does not change the timing in a jeep..all computer controlled. Start over and rig it to factory specs, its not the cause of your miss

Mine is a 1994. I didn't think the ECU controlled timing that far back.

Learn something new every day. I guess I shouldn't worry about it not rotating.

Thanks

It does. You'll also find that the distributor doesn't turn by design because that bolt holds it in place. You'd have to grind the ears off the hold down tab to be able to turn it.
