Distributor shaft play

Distributor shaft play

Hi,
I removed my distributor cap to check its condition, and discovered there in a lot of play in the distributor shaft.
Can you buy the replacement bushing ?
Anyone done this job

yes, called our local dealer, only list the the distributor as a unit for around $700!, no parts listed
Will close my eyes to this one till it stops!

go to a jy and check the play in them. I know most have some amount of play to them. Hell, pick a spare up while u are there.

You can get just the bushings, but you run the risk of destroying the distributor if you're not real careful. You can buy a reman distributor from most parts stores for a lot less than 700bills.
