Distributor Help Very Much Needed

Default Distributor Help Very Much Needed

Second time posting on here. I bought a 95 XJ not running. Long story short I think the guy threw the timing out of whack. Now I'm fixing It. But I can't get the distributor to pull off. I took off the bolt holding it in place. But it still won't budge. Am I missing somthing? Any help is appreciated.

Should just lift out.

The PO probably used RTV instead of a gasket.


See if you can get a scraper or thin blade screwdriver between the engine block and the distributor base and gently tap it with a hammer.

Alright I'll give that a shot. I tried tapping it with a hammer just to yet it lose.
