Hey I'm looking at buying a 1999 cherokee, looks like its in pretty good shape - only issues are that the drivers door is sagging, still closes but not "properly", and the window in the drivers door no longer works (electrical)
anyone either know if these are easy fixes, or how much approx. they would cost to get fixed? I'm assuming at least the door will have to get fixed in order to get it safetied, so its the only thing really holding me back from purchasing
I ended up having to get my drivers door fixed as well. It began sagging, and had a hard time closing properly, then eventually it dented itself badly enough I had to bungie strap the door shut.
Cost me 350 for a re-welded door, catch, pin, lock, hinges and bushings. It acts like a brand new door now though
thats actually not as bad as I expected. I've seen some of the other options to try to fix it but i don't have access to a welder so I'm not sure if its a job I can get done on my own. When I looked at the hinges I didn't see any broken welds, so hopefully its just bushings and pins. Heres some pics if that helps anyone diagnose
