Default Distributor cps Retrofit

Hi all, been a lurker for a while, first time posting.
Currently finishing an engine swap on my 93 XJ. Engine i am swapping in is a fully rebuilt 4.0 from a 90 XJ. I am using my 93 H.O. intake and exhaust, throttle body, flexplate, valve cover, and distributor in order to maintain compatibility with wiring harness and ecu. However, my 93 distributor is trashed. Can I use the cps out of the 93 in the 90 distributor?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. if you have concerns with my using H.O. peripherals on the non-H.O. long block, please let me know! I'm pretty much just doing the opposite of the H.O. into RENIX swap....

I dunno, but here's one way to check: Look up the part numbers as if you were going to buy one. See what part numbers you get for the different years. If they are the same, you are good to go.

Just look at the parts online they look differant , the pickup in the distributor are differant you can try to see if switch the pickups they do use the same caps.

Just finished the swap (took me a while, I know), wanted to give an update on how it works. Had to use my brackets and mounts for the alternator, power steering pump, and A/C pump from my old HO engine, everything hooked up nice. I am getting poor gas mileage though, and it's not just my snow tires. Wondering if maybe the HO intake on renix head has anything to do with it.
