Default differential identity

With no id tags how do you determine which rear end is in your jeep? Want to put a new diff cover on since mine has a rubber plug instead of a threaded one.

is that a pic of your axle? just cause you said you have a rubber plug...

the one pictured is an 8.25, you can tell just by the flat part along the bottom just below the diff cover.

if yours doesn't have that flat cast bottom, then you have the d35.

jeep liked to use the d35 if you have abs, 8.25 if you don't.

I have D35 and no abs... Back in 89 they didn't care if you slid into an oncoming car in the snow

ABS will make you slide into an oncoming car.

ABS sucks, if you know how to drive you dont need it.
