different heads

so we had bad compression on the head that was on the jeep,picked up new head and are about to put it on when we noticed that one has a sending unit and one does not. do i need to worrie about it. i believe its the temp sending unit. i tryed to upload pics but it hates me

no all it does is operate the gauge the coolant temp sensor operates the fan you really need the gauge what year xj is it

so its a renix 1987 thru 1990 are not 4.o HO motors im pretty sure the head your using is a HO head dont no if its the same bore wise

no it will fit heres what i would do to have the gauge got to auto parts or jy and get a 91 and up thermostat housing with the outlet for the coolat temp sensor and get a adapter to use the factory renix sender that was in the head and just splice the wire longer to reach it in new location
