differance between 1998 4.0 and 2000 4.0 engine
HI All, new to the forum, working on my first jeep, needing some help, what is the differance between the 1998 4.0 I6 and the 2000 I6 engine? any help would be appreciated... thank you very much

2000 has the 0331 cylinder head which tend to crack the first time your temp goes above 230 (common on a 4.0, they run hot)
all 4.0s after 99 have a redesigned intake manifold that flows better, and a different cam.
On paper, the 2000 has 10 more horsepower, otherwise there are very little difference.

im not trying to sound like a jerk but there are lots of threads on this topic but quickly 2000 has different intake holes exhaust holes uses a rail coil distubuterless system, prolly more things.
