I have a 1988 and would like to swap the front dif for one without the vac, but dont have the time to do a lot of fab.Is there one that would bolt right in without a lot of extra work.

 

what you can do is take off the housing in it, make sure its out of 4x4, take it apart and and slide it into the 4x4 position an insall a spacer on the side where it would be if it was in 2 wheel drive and it will act like a solid axle shaft. thats what i did and a few of my buddies with older cherokees do

 

swap in a stock Dana 30 from an earlier year...(91-98) or w/e and then take the vaccuum lines from your t-case and run them into your cab.... then take one of your vaccuum lines from the engine bay and run it into your cab..... you will then have to figure out which vaccuum line from the t-case is 4wd, and which is 2wd... then take the vaccuum line from the engine bay and hook it to the 2wd for everyday driving, then hook it up to the 4wd vaccuum line when u you have the 4wd engaged...
