Default Dieseling after wiring fans???

So I had the mechanic wire my after market dual electric fans to the stock relay. When I got it back the engine started dieseling after shut off. Meaning it runs and sputters out a few seconds after I've cut the ignition and remove the key. This is a SUDDEN change. Nothing gradual and never happened before.

Im taking it back Monday, but if you have any suggestions maybe I won't have to.

The timing is correct. I don't think it's carbon build up because I ran seafoam through last month and the intake gasket is good because I replaced the exhaust manifold last month too. Everything is currently torqued to spec.

Your mechanic forgot to put something back together sir!

ask him if he cut any wires to "splice" your new fan in.....

Just my opinion

cheers!

That's what I thought too. When I did the headers and intake I forgot to connect a vacuume line and it did almost the same thing till I connected it. I made sure it was connected this time and it is. I don't see anything else disconnected.

Oh I forgot to say that it doesn't always do it. As far as I can tell ( I've only driven it and turned it off about 10 times since I got it back) it only happens after running around 210 for a bit. Short trips don't seem to cause it.

For those who care, your electric fans act as a generator as they spin after you shut your engine off. If they are wired to the main ignition circuit, they will create enough voltage to power that ignition circuit and keep the engine sputtering a few moments.
