seems ol bessy is having some issues now. since it got a little warmer she has periodically been just randomly dying while in gear (5 speed) and won't hit a lick for anywhere from 5 sec to 2~3 minutes. at first this was just a every now and again kind of thing, but yesterday it did it so many times I thought it was just gona die and never crank up again. it did it 5 times in an hour long drive of pure highway. everytime I had to pull over on the side of the road because the jeep just wouldnt crank... any idea what this could be ? I was told maybe the cps but I've also been told the cps doesn't falter it just straight goes out. also heat seems to play a part in this as well because it did it yesterday during the hottest part of the day but did it none after it called down for a few hours when we were in the mall.. please help

 

"wouldnt hit a lick" What does this mean? Do you mean it dies and wont crank or it dies and will crank? If its a no crank issue its not likely your CPS if it cranks but wont start this could be it. I have had mine get hot and not want to start but once i tapped on the CPS it started and ran fine.

 

yeah it will turn over, it just won't start.
