Dielectric Grease
Does it help? I have never used it before on any of my cars. I always change plugs and wires whenever I am doing a tune-up so a boot ripping is not a concern. I've also never owned a car that will see itself crossing through creeks and large mud pits either. So I am new to this idea. I'm just wondering what is the best way to use it and what are some the issues to be careful of when using it.

i used it per the guy at the parts store recommending it. I usually put it in the spark plug boots and any other electrical connection that i come across. i think the last time i used it was for a blower motor. It must resist corosion at the very lease.

I've used it for years on every resto I have done and when electrical gremlins pop up
I know atleast they are not caused by contact corrosion of poor grounds.
On newer vehicles that is not so much of a problem but if you start buying 20 year cars and older it's a God send.

I used to work for Ford in their special vehicles unit. We put it on EVERY electrical connection OUTSIDE the vehicle.Because grease and water dont mix, it keeps the water out of your connections, but it does not inhibit the electrical connection. Use it, it's worth the money in piece of mind.
p.s.- it tastes like crap.....dont ask

we use it at work for all our copper to aluminum connections. prevents corrosion, and doesnt affect the connection, as stated before. its sticky and doesnt wash off so well, and it costs a lot, but its worth it in the end. i only used it on my starter connection, because i dont feel like getting stranded in the middle of winter.

It helps not only with the boots coming off, have you ever looked inside of a old wire? The wires I took off my jeep looked factory and inside the boots the metal was all rusted and corroded.
