The XJ Cherokee no....

The FSJ Cherokee yes.. But I don't think that is what you are asking about.

so if i wanted to put one up front what should i get it out of??? Also are wrangler axles the same width as xj axles? If so would a rubicon front dana 44 be a direct bolt on?

Yes it would bolt right in. I'm not 100% about the driveshaft u-joint size though but think it's the same.

The front yoke on a ruby44 is a 1350.

FWIW, the ruby 44 is not a true Dana44. The center section is a Dana44 diff but the tubes, inner C's, knuckles, etc are all Dana30. A truss is darn near manditory for 'em.

Frank is correct on that. That's why I opted not to do a TJ Dana 44 in mine. I did a Dana 44 out of an 89 Wagoneer as they are stronger and are also 6 lug rather than 5 x 4 1/2.

Rusty's Offroad sells the upper control arm brackets needed to attach to the differential to make it work and also the spring buckets and shock perches pre-fabbed. All you need to do is find a buddy that's good at welding and you can have it setup pretty easily.
