I dont have a diagram for you but I do know a pretty good trick on finding a vac. leak. Start your XJ and keep it running, take some starting fluid and start spraying it down on each vac. line or connection. Make sure you dont just start spraying the crap out of every thing, pick one vac line and spray it, then move on to the next one, so you can isolate which line u sprayed. If you hear your idle on the motor raise, than you have found where your vac leak is! Then just replace the line! I hope this may help u out a little. Good luck..... vac leaks and problems are a major pain in the A*S!

"Jeep Stealer (dealer) to run their crap through it"???

Not all of us are backyard hacks... some of us are actual technicians. You might watch who you insult around here.

Thanks Fox.

Sorry SolderJunkie, I didnt really think that I was being insulting by basically saying I didnt want to pay THESE "technichians" AROUND HERE $60 plus bucks an hour to do quess work on my vehicle. Seriously, no insult intended. I have just had it up to my lid with dealer mechanics and their apparent lack of knowledge. Not saying you are one of them, but when I take my Jeep to a dealer or my wifes worthless GMC to a dealer shop, they type what kind of noise it is making into some computer program that gives them about 5 possibilities and they start the process of elimination....usually resulting in 5 new parts and the same problem when I had when I came in. It's frustrating to say the least. I leave there thinking, "Give this "back yard hack" the password to that computer and Ill be just as "technical"....or I could have my kids swap out parts while I watch TV." That is probably why when you ask a modern day "technichian" anything and he is not pluged in to a computer...you cant get an answer to a "technical" question. But again, no insult intended. I'm sure if I drove to Nashville and had you hook it up to the computer and charge me a few bills all of my problems would be solved. Thanks for the advice.

It's fine Misterskin... I'm used to being the scapegoat. Consumer Reports publishes two or three articles a year about what a ripoff artist I am.

I'm an electrical/driveability diagnostician. I usually don't see a vehicle until the owner has spent several hundred (or thousand) dollars having it not fixed elsewhere. I also get vehicles from other dealerships in my bays... word gets around.

No computer will find a vacuum leak for you... it's old-school work.

Here's your diagram for the engine bay/evap system:
