Default Diagnostic Connectors?

Hey, guys. I'm looking around trying to find any diagnostic connectors on my Jeep. I know of the one next to the computer I can hook my code scanner to, but I was wondering if there's anymore anywhere? Looking for the possibility of connecting it to my laptop and getting real time data, just for the heck of it. Hope I don't sound too stupid to you guys Just something that popped into my head

Maybe some simple info should be given, like the year of your XJ. If you have a 87-90 XJ, good luck. It ain't gonna happen, but the data link is next to the coolant tank. If you have a 91-95 XJ, you're gonna need a scan tool with the proper data link plug. It's located next to the ECM. If you have a 96 and newer XJ your luck is better. You can buy the dongle for the data link and use you smart phone to read engine data and codes. The connector in under the dash on the driver side. The data that you can access means nothing if you don't know what any of it means, just a bunch of numbers.

The info on my Jeep is in my signature, and I said I already knew of the one by the ECM. What I was asking is if there is another connector somewhere, or a way to get live data to, say, my laptop. I know I can with my Mom's Lexus, which is a '96, but I wanted to know if it's possible with an OBD1 car

Not everybody can see the info in your signature depending on what type of devise they are using to access the site. Your snarky response has just burnt a bridge. Good luck.

Simple answer is No. The data link connector by the ECM is the only one.

Thank you, Ken. All I wanted to know. Any chance that one can be used to connect to a computer for live data?

I don't think so. I don't think OBDI has the Serial Communications Interfaces to access the ECM like the OBDII does.
