Hey guys, this is my first post! Im looking to buy a 1999 Cherokee Sport with 153k miles on it. The drivers side floor pan and rear frame has some rust but I'm unsure as to how bad it is, or how bad it could end up being. Would you buy? Any information would be greatly appreciated.!!

Run away from this one, it is a rust bucket, the spring mount is destroyed, and has a very poor patch, that is very bad. unless this jeep is close to free, or you want it for parts, or as a winter salt car, run away. the rust I see is only the tip of the iceberg so to speak. the car is also a repaint, I see the overspray Id not be surprised if under the recent new paint is lots of lurking rust as I see a rust bubble, perhaps Bondo too already poking out of the new paint on the rocker! Price it as a jeep with a shot body that is disolving, it is past the point of restoration, but maybe drivable for a while till other parts fall off, etc... It has near terminal cancer, the proceedure to cure is more costly to have done than the patient is worth. it is a money pit. but hey if it is only $500, you drive it for a year without putting any repair into it other than oil changes, still drives, then you sell it for $100 then maybe it is a good deal. Thats only $33 per month for wheels! but long term, that not a good jeep to buy, money pit!
