Demon jeep! HELP!
Hello all,
I just joined this site but am not new to it(lurking).I own a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic 2WD with a 1997 4.0L HO.
I bought this car outright as my first vehicle about 5 years ago and it has been excellent up untill recently.
My jeep will start but idles terribly and eventually just dies out no matter what i do nothing seems to fix my issue i used to be able to rev it to redline and everything would clear up like something was clogged. At one time if i had my door open with the buzzer going off it would kill the power to the fuel pump causing my car to die out eventually that stopped and it moved on to when ever i would pull my headlight switch out my car would run fine if it was idling all over the place.Ive talked to and taken it to several different mechanics after trying everything myself and none of them seem to wanna spend anytime on it or even touch it.
Recently i had it at a local pep boys and the code reader would not connect to my pcm and when ever it finally did connect it just froze.Im beginning to think this might be some type of electrical demon but am totally lost on what exactly to do.I really would not like to take it to a jeep dealership but will as a last resort.
If anyone has any info or advise it would be greatly appreciated this has been keeping my jeep down for almost a month now.
here is a list of all parts ive changed in a effort to fix this issue:
1.Fuel pump
2.Fuel filter
3.Cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires
4.Crank position sensor as well as Camshaft position sensor
5.TPS
6.PCM
sorry for such a long post but this thing as been stressing me out and i would hate to see my jeep go!

Does it turn right over when you start it? You can go to autozone or whatever chain parts place is in your area and get the alternator, battery etc. tested for free. I would want to get that stuff checked out first. Im big on the seafoam deep creep spray for the throttle body, it costs like 8 bucks. It wouldn't hurt to make sure it's not just a dirty motor issue first before you go down the nightmare road of trying to find bad wires...
