I have a 1998 XJ sport with AC. The defroster door slams closed when I turn the fan speed up beyond low speed. All the other doors and controls seem to be working fine for all the other settings. I see no issues with the vacuum system. I presume the door or a lever is disconected or broken loose from the controling diaphram unit. Is this a common problem and Any easy fixes or tear the dash out when spring comes??

Also is the 98 XJ subject to the same intermitant spedo-tach-airbag light issues as the 99's I did a search and I see lots of info for the 99's but not so much for the 98's. My 98 never displays the no buss code. So far a slap on the dash or usually wait a minute and it fixes it's self. Also no problm with starting or running so maybe not related to the crank sensor
