I have a decent brush guard and I CLOBBERED a packed Walmart cart at 30 mph and no harm was done to my Jeep. The shopping cart...that's a different story. It flew into the Walmart's brick wall and proceeded to break into a billion pieces and everything went everywhere leading to the laughter of my friends and I. Also, to prevent the deer from coming through the windshield when you hit them, weld skewers on the front and then you don't need to even scoop it up off the side of the road to take it home.

there are two 100 watt bosh driving lights underneath, and I have two pointing slightly outward as well that are on top of the bumper.

96cherokee, you should edit your post and remove most of what you said. this is a public forum and those types of things are ammo for people to remove our 4 wheeling rights.

dude, you got rid of it for a reason...it was smashed and destroyed.

I do know what I'm talking about. ARB's are more look than function. I know this PERSONALLY because I've not only installed one on an xj, but I have also had to straighten one out off of a TJ that hit a measly little class 3 hitch that had a 2" ball on it at 3mph, and it competely bent the crap out of the center of the bumper.

JakeWI is the one who's xj I helped installed an arb on...and I tell you now, that that bumper is NOT over 100lbs. maybe with custom mounts, but the bumper itself is rinky dink thin steel that does nothing but look good.

he sold it for that very reason...it's good looking, but not strong enough for a damned thing.

i decided to take it out.. this thread is not about what an arb is or isnt or how someone thinks about it.. its about the person asking what is good for a deer.. sorry about getting off topic. i was just trying to show you an arb was a good bumper.

yea where i am from i have to stopp ALL the time for deer.. its a big problem exsp... around rut season.
i find the best bumpers are the built bumpers.. my rear one is 100% custom built and my front one might as well be custom built from all the hours i have into making it

I see all sorts of things hit deer around here, most grill guards just fold under the weight of a deer impact. But how much a custom bumper helps is up for debate too... And I have seen ARB bumpers destroyed by deer.

Relax JeepCoMJ, it's only a joke. But the shopping cart really did happen. Now if anybody does happen to weld some skewers on their brush guards, they're stupid because they can't tell a joke from reality, but I'd like to see pics.
