decided to "fold" my fenders
been reading up on different ways to do the fenders. bought some31's this weekend for my otherwise stock xj and decided I wanted some more room, and I will trim them eventually anyway.
I liked the cut and fold method because I dont like having that sharp edge for the tire to dig into.
So I brought home the sawzall and went to town.
In the front I made cuts fairly close together to aboutt he point I wanted to fold up to. (about the first body line) I did not however make cuts along any part of the fender that was straight. only the curved areas.
I used pliers to bend the lip back and then hammered the lip up into the inside of the fender.
for the rear I went as high as I could. I cut in the same manner (up to the inner fender, because this is the farthest you can go) and skipped the pliers, just hammered my way around.
the whole project took me about an hour and Im pretty happy with the results.
oh and the look a little rough because the paint is flaking where I folded the fender.
Check it out.
and for reference, they fit amazingly well with the flares.

I think Im going to bed line from the body line down. just around the fenders and rockers. that will save it and hide a little too.
