Another x2 on you walking away. Been there done that also and its never fun. Makes you feel like **** for a few days then you start to get over it. Vehicles are fixable/replaceable, you aint. Work at it Hubb and everything will work out in its own way.

Update: Damage not as bad as first thought, tie rod is fine. I need a new power steering pump, p/s box, and radiator to get it running (haven't gotten an estimate for that yet.). As for the body damage, looking at about $120 to replace all those parts. I believe the wire that got pinched in the grill is responsible for the driver's side fog light and horn not working, but that should be an easy fix. As for the wheel....if I can find the same style wheel there, it should cost me about $20 to get that replaced.

As for the damaged parts essential to vehicle movement, that is another story. I know for the pump, they'll want about $125. For the box, probably about another 200, and then probably roughly the same for the radiator. total for getting it working: about $500.

Grand sum for damages as estimated so far: about $650.

Update: damage not as near as bad as initially thought, need a new radiator, serpentine fan (not the clutch), fender, and header. Total damage is only about $150

yaaay!

As for the bumper.... I DON'T KNOW. I'll look it up because I've had so many people ask about it. (it is slick though isn't it?) It also only mounts on the three stock mounts.

I dont think you'd do well as an insurance adjuster. You went from the thing needing a grand worth of work on page 1 to 150 bucks now.

Glad to hear it wasnt so bad as you thought though- I was looking at the pics going "wtf is this guy whining about, looks fine to me"

When I initially looked at it, I thought I had hit the power steering box and pump. The way they hit me, their rear end kinda wrapped around that spartan bumper, going straight into the soft stuff. As for the insurance adjuster... no I don't think so. I'm a little too...thorough and budget-wise to do that job well

Also, because of the speed of the impact, I was worried about unibody damage being a factor.

Awesome to see the price of repair go down so much. Before I read your last couple posts I was gonna say just go to a junkyard and pull off used parts..only the ones necessary to driveability. But nevermind. Looks like you got it covered.

DUDE that F***ING SUCKS!! you were all hyped up about lifting it and everything then this ***** happens. man, I have to tell you the truth. I probably would have cried. I didnt even cry when I wrecked my mustang into a tree( i slid on ice). But I have to say I would definitely have cried if I wrecked my jeep. I'm sorry that happened man. once I come close to doing that exact same thing in my jeep...which wasnt inspected...it was really scary too, i swerved out of the way into the other lane(and i have Super swamper tsl bias plys, anyone who has swerved on bias ply tires knows what i mean) and I didnt check to see if there was someone in that lane first(cause i was in a bit of a hurry) and anfter I swerved over i looked in my rear viewmirror and there was a car like 5 feet behind me. I was like(pardon my words) "HOLY F**K that was so F**KING close, HOLY *****!!" Dude i had the worst adrenaline rush ever, my hands were shaking soo bad.

anyways, I'm really sorry that happened. Hope it gets better REAL quick!

No crying, but a good bit of cussing and screaming. Instead of a lift, I'm planning on putting on some shocks with longer travel and some skids. Should accomplish the same goal

As for the fixins, should all be up to par by saturday.
