This morning going to school I noticed my dash lights (speedometer,fuel gauge.. etc) didn't have a backlight. I drive a 94 Cherokee XJ.I had to use the flashlight on my phone to get the speed limit and put on cruise control to avoid speeding as I was unable to see it. Any advice on how to fix this would be helpful.

 

do your tail lights work?

 

tried the dimmer switch? turn the light switch and see if that works.

 

Tail lights do work as well as the brake lights. And there is a dimmer switch? I will go try turning the light switch now.

 

Also check fuses... Theres one for the dash lights...

 

Well I don't feel so smart right now. It was the dimmer. I had no clue that was there. Only had the XJ for about 3 weeks now. Thanks.

 

Dont fell bad... Ive done that to myself the last two times i cleaned the dash lol... Both times it was like a month later i got to "troubleshoot" it... I sadly couldnt remember what it was i did the first time when it happened the second time! 3rd time was my headlight harness grounding out behind a side light... Lol

 

no worrys, it took me a week to figure out how to turn on my interior lights.
