I had my xj smogged a couple weeks ago, my drivers door is slightly unaligned because the po welded it back up crooked, needless to say it's difficult to close if you don't know. the guys at the smog place couldn't close it and i heard them slam it a good 5+ times and laugh about it before i walked into the shop cussing them out for destroying my jeep. i drove it home and it burnt through 6 fuses before i made it home.... everytime it would burn out my running lights and dash lights went out. first symptom was the dash dimmer would only work on full blast, after burning all those fuses the issue somewhat resolved itself, now the dashlight no longer works AT ALL, and the running lights are fine, it also no longer burns fuses thanks guys

Ended up being fuse 19 for me, it works now but has no variation, just full on or nothing. Any idea why?

 

Replace head light switch.
