In dash blinker lights stuck on
I Drive a 1998 jeep cherokee classic 4.0L Recently i redid all my lights converting them to led's. Well the switch inside started making a buzzing noise For my blinkers and the lights would either stay solid or just not turn on at all. so to remedy the issue thanks to this forum i bought a new signal relay that could handle the led's so we are all good there.
However now when i turn the lights on say my dims or brights both of the blinker lights in the dash stay on at all times. I was under the impression that this meant i had a burnt out bulb? but i dont. so what can i do to fix this? any help would be great thanks.
Also maybe i missed something but i searched extensively before making this to ensure that i didn't recreate a post im fairly new here so if this has already been addressed let me know thanks.

It ONLY happens when you turn on your headlight circuit?
What about if you turn on just your parking lights?
Also, do they function normal when you don't have your headlights or parking lights on (say, daytime)?

They always function right but the dash lights are on at all times with the lights on whether it be parking or headlight. Almost like its telling me a bulb is blown but its not i think the leds are messing with it more

If I'm not mistaken. The turn signals work off resistance. If the signal indicator is stuck on in the dash after you turn your lights on it probably also blinks fast, Meaning the jeep thinks the bulbs are out because leds don't have as much resistance as a incandescent bulb. If you put load resistors in line for the turn signals it will see the right ohms and turn off the indicators on your dash and stop the hyper flash.

I'm still sticking with power being back-fed through a ground circuit. I dont know off hand where the grounds are exactly but if you are getting this serious about fixing your jeep you might need to spend 15 bucks and invest in a Service Manual. Hayes/Chilton Etc...
If they are polarity dependant the Diode will not allow the power to flow in its intended direction and instead it will look for the path with least resistance, which will usually end up being the indicator bulbs.
I would start pulling bulbs out one at a time. start with the marker lights and see if the TS stay on with the lights on. Then move to the forward facing TS/Marker bulb. I'm guessing its going to be one of the front bulbs since the rear TS bulbs do not act as markers when the headlights are on like the fronts do
