Default Dana 35 trac lok

I have a 2000 Cherokee with a Dana 35 rear axle. Does anyone know if there are pictures to compare the non trac lok to the one with a trac lok? I just want to know. Also, I did buy the modifier to put in, and the guy at Napa told me even if I don't have a trac lok, the modifier will do no harm, is this correct? Thanks in advance

He is correct the modifier will not hurt anything if you don't have the trac lock

Open carrier on the left.. Trac-loc on the right.

Adding modifier to a non Trac-loc will not hurt anything.

OK, thanks for the replies! So am I correct in saying that if it's open all the way through, it is non trac lok, and if one side is closed it is trac lok?

is the presence of this tag an indicator, or is the tag stamped with information?

So is a trac lock any good and is it positive? My dads cherokee when lifted from the back the 2 rear tires spin in the same direction. And when I do mine they spin in the opposite direction

Your dad has a locker or lsd. You have an open diff.
