Alright we all know that the dana 35 isnt great. I have a 91 cherokee laredo that is non cad. So Im swapping in a 1997 8.25 the one with 29 spline axles. My question is, will it be a direct fit? Are all the brackets, shock mount points, and or brake lines going to work? Also are the 8.25 brakes different than that of a D35? Im sure somone out there has done this. Please help. Any info on the subject will be greatly appreicated! Thanks

I've done the swap.
Your gonna need bigger U-bolts.
The brakes are different but the cable and hoses will connect to it just fine in the same area's.
The spring perches and shock mounts will be the same.
One another benefit I noticed. The rear shaft slipped into the T-case more. Thats a benefit if your running a lift with no sye.

I'm getting ready to do this swap as well. What about the brake junction and vent? Are these interchangable? I got a bare bones 8.25 and just see 2 holes in the axle where it looks like they would go. Any input on this? Thanks.
