Default dana 35 backlash

ok so i have what i think is backlash. going from drive to reverse it clunks abit. the u joints dont seem to have any play. I am not mechanically inclined enough to actually figure out the proper way of fixing this. if i had time to let it sit and do it maybe but its a dd. so what would be the cost at a shop for this. not a dealer im not fond of them. i was thinking northwest transmissions just north of hear or one of the many decent shops. just want an estimate?

Find a 97+ Chrysler 8.25, swap it out very straight forward im gonna be you have at least one buddy that is mechanicly inclined. A shop will charge probally 5-6hrs labor plus parts, you can find a 8.25 for about 100-250

i mean i have no problem with a future axle swap if need be. and the only reason i asked about the 9" rear is because i have a 79 bronco thay is put together very well but no one wants to buy it whole. so i do have the thaught of parting it out. and keeping the rear if i could swap that but would the dana 44 front work as well becuase no sense in having the muscle in the back and not the front.

http://www.naxja.org is ate up with this swap. Plenty of info available if this route is chosen. Many benefits for doing this swap.... if you are gonna wheel it, too much work for me for just a daily driver.

yah the front end would probly require quite a bit of fabrication when it comes to the control arms and what not. just my imagination lol i think ide rather break a dana 30 a few times befor that route.
