I run 34's on my jeep with the 35 and with everyones talk about the lack of strength from them I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to put in a locker. Its my daily driver and I don't wheel it very hard. If need be what axle swap would be strong and easiest to swap with?

Throw an 8.8 under it if you can weld.

Axles arent my strong suit so don't judge when I ask this but where do I get one and will it be like a straight swap. I'm a good welder But I've never done something like this before

Ford explorers. They are spring under. You would have to weld new spring perches on. There are lots of write UPS here and on Google. Very strong axle.

8.25 Would be best for that. Trust me its also a straight swap. If you dont do any hard wheeling than thats the way to go.

Haha.. the debate over d35's continues... You can run a 35 locked on oversized tires and never have a problem. The only issue is you have to wheel VERY easy and sometimes that's just not an option. So an 8.25 is the most direct swap and for easy wheeling is just fine... Mines held up..

The d35 is really not that bad. You'll be fine.

34s on a locked d35 is not a good idea. Open I'd say fine but not locked. Some throttle around a corner and POP. Gearing will make a big difference too though.

Yeah street driving was my worry. I don't do much trail stuff most of it's deep mud. What did they put the 8.25 on that's what a lot of people run and I haven't read too many bad things about them

Go with an 8.25. Unless you wanna weld shock mounts. You'll need different u bolts
