Default Dana 30 axle seals

I replaced my u-joints on the passenger side a couple weeks ago. Now I have axle fluid leak coming out the axle housing. How difficult is it to replace the axle seal?? I figure I will have to pull the axle shaft again, is the seal inside the vacuum assembly/ half shaft?

Yes, and yes. In that way having a disconnect D30 is actually a bonus... the driver's side and later model passenger side seals are accessed via the diff housing, you have to remove the gears to get at them.

The "seals" installed near the end of the axle tubes on the D30 are debris covers to keep stuff from damaging the rubber oil seal.
