Default Dakota bastard pack question

Well I just bought a set of 96 2wd dakota leaf springs and I'm wondering what or how to arrange the leaf pack. Does any one have any pics of there bastard packs that would help me out. Thanks in advance.

First of all you need to make sure you have the heavy duty pack, with four leaves.

If you use the bottom three leaves and not the main leaf, you will get about 4"

If you cut the eyes off the main leaf and use it you get about 5"

You can add a one inch spacer block safely and get 6"

In all situations you reuse the XJ main leaf and you do not have to remove it, in fact it is easier if you don't.

I said "about" when referring to how much lift you will get. The front lifts of various kits vary a little, so you might end up doing a little experimentation anyway.

It must be a heavy duty pack cause it has 4 leafs in it the way it sits. I'm looking for a 4.5 in lift for the rear cause I have 4.5 coils for the front. How should the leafs be arranged for the best results? Thanks again for the advice.

As I said, lift kits vary a little. I have a six inch lift that is the same height in the front as a 7" from another company. But I would plan on cutting the eyes off the main leaf and putting the whole thing in and see how it sits. Don't cut your center bolt off until after you are sure you have it the way you want it.

Go to the how to thread and find the bastard pack or budget boost thread on the 3rd page.
