I have. I used ZJ disc brakes. When you use ZJ disc brakes you have to have the center hole opened up 3/32, or until the oil seal passes through without touching. Then you also have to have the backing plate and the retainer plate drilled. All told my machining bill was 150. When I did this I also bought new Alloy USa chromo shafts. The kit comes with everything you need to do the swap.
The other way to do the swap is to use Crown vic disc brakes. Then all you have to do is make a spacer. There is a good wrieup on Jeepforum, and probrably Naxja.

I did mine the hard way cause I couldnt find crown vic parts.
Also if you use crown vic parts you can get away with oout having a spacer made, if you have the TJ rubicon reatining plates redrilled to the D44 pattern.
Here is a pic of a TJ rubicon Backing plate re-drilled next to a stock D44 plate.
Here is the brake backing plate, and the retainer plate making sure they were machined right before I pressed the bearings and retainer on the axle.

The D44 can also use NON C CLIP d35 brake parts. If you have access to lots of crown vics.. pull brake parts and start ebaying. Same with exploder, and ZJ disc brake parts.

It really is only a matter of unbolting diff cover... pulling c-clips, then un bolt cliper, pull shafts out, then unbolting backing plate from axle. Then putting it back together isnt that hard.
If you could find a machine shop to do bulk work cheap... sure you could make some moneys. Keep in mind most jeepers would rather " do it themselves" then pay you to odo it for them.

i know it wouldnt be hard... and i could probly get away with one for myself and maybe acoulple others... but the JY's here would rather sell the whole axle vs. taking it apart... i went to get the brackets for the power steering pump and i had to take the pump too... once i do or if i do the mod then ill know better what it will take and i can have a better idea of exactly what ill need...
