Default D44 knuckles ?

OK. I bought a D44 front with gears and axles . But no knuckles . I'm wondering what knuckles are compatable with the D44 ? I was told older D30 ones were .?? Haven't done really any searching yet . Thought I could get some answers from ones who have already done this .

I've heard older D30 from CJs and Scouts will work but haven't tried. Ford, Dodge, IH and Chevy 44 and 10 bolt will all work but have different spindles so you need the entire assembly. Watch out for older drum set ups because they can't be converted to disc. If you want hi steer knuckles the only ones I'd recommend drilling and taping come from Ford f250s. The rest don't have enough material to hold well.

Thanks . I'm looking to go with some from a F250 . I was told the older CJ D30's would work but , they would not last long with the way I wheel .

Everything you ever wanted to know about 44s and then some. BTW not all F250 knuckles are created equal.

A buddy of mine said the same thing about Mr. N's page . Thanks . On the knuckles , yeah I guess it would have helped out with the make , model & year huh ? Wasn't thinking about that when I posted . I may try the older CJ D30's till i find what I want . We'll see how they work ???
