Default D35 to C 8.25 swap drive shaft Q

Hey ya'll, I need some help. I have an '89 XJ with a 4.0L, a Puegeot BA 10? (I know it's a puegeot 5 speed) and a NP 235 TC. Do any of you great folks know what DS length I need? No lift (for now! ) or any mods that would otherwise affect DS length. I REALLY wanna get rid of my whining @$$ D35 before something gives up when I go out of town or I'm lightly wheelin'. I know my pinion bearings are shot (230,000 mi) but from what I understand I would be better off putting money in a C 8.25 to rebuild it ( I have good shop equip. including a 60 ton press) than my D35. Any input would be greatly welcomed. (I know about the Ford 8.8 swap, But I'm gonna wait 'till my sister totals her Explorer.. It's a posi. 2 months to 2 years..I just hope she doesn't hurt herself or anyone else.. I do wish her the best, though..)

If you 8.25 it drive line will not need to be swapped. 8.8 you will need a flange adapter.

I see no reason to rebuild a 8.25 if you find a decent one in the junkyard or from part outs, just saying. Also the 8.25 pinion is longer so you may need a DS. I forget what the difference is b/c I lifted, pushed my axle back and swapped 8.25 at the same time so the d35 DS was perfect in my application.

I knew about the longer pinion on the C8.25, I think it's like an inch or two longer maybe? I have to drive 50 miles to the good JY and I just wanna make sure I get the right DS. Anybody got a C8.25 they can measure?

Why don't you just take the driveline from the rig you pull the axle from?

Here is why I said no need for a new dl. When I swapped my d35 to my 8.25 I did NOT replace my drive line. It's a Tom woods $300 shaft so wtf would I?
