d30 upgrading

I just got a d30 for the front of my xj that has the gears in it i want. what should i do to it before i install it in the jeep? These seals any good? http://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetrai...FcqVfgodbDMAmA

Those aftermarket add ons look cool and will probably seal against the tube but are unlikely to seal perfectly against the axle. Any water/junk that gets in may be trapped in. Also, if a factory seal starts leaking you may not know until it's too late since you won't see oil leaking out till the tube is almost half full and leaking past the add-on seal. I've never used them and I could be totally wrong, if they do seal reliably then it could be a good investment. If you do install them check the diff. oil regularly.

Yea not many people actually bend d30 tubes, it's the knuckles that should be addressed more than that. A small truss that goes between the passenger side upper control arm bracket and the pumpkin would be plenty.

Ball joints, hubs, and U joints have to be done/pulled to install those, might as well do inner axle tube and pinion seals too. Good maintenance items.
