I have 35's on a dana 30 with no problems. with cromo shafts( saw a pair on colorado4x4.org for $250) if you are going to get a locker you can get a larger spline count than stock. large u joints(same size as dana 44) tube brace (small truss to keep the axle from flexing, rustys sells one for cheap)

If you realy want some beef buy a hd high pinion dana 44 out of a old v8 cherokee.
The old FSJ Cherokee never had a high pinion 44 only low. Ford is the only one to use a high pinion 44, Dodge, Chevy, IH and AMC all used low pinion. I went the Ford route and wish I'd waited for a 60.

I've been running 35's on my stock ish dana 30 for 3 years now with no break downs. It has stock shafts with yukon 4.56 gears and an aussie locker. I've used it rock crawling in moab and muddin in michigan. I'm not the easiest on it either. Just make sure you don't get it hopping and don't drive like its got rockwells under it and you should be just fine.
